Ingredients
Ingredient list
- 3-5 LB Roaster Chicken
- 1/2 1/2 can your favorite beer
Custom Rub
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and Pepper
Custom basting sauce
- 3/4 stick butter
- 2 Tablespoons Franks red hot sauce or your favorite hot sauce
Instructions

- Mix all ingredients

- Melt the butter and add it to your hot sauce.
Beer Can Chicken
- Carefully stand your bird up on the beer can and rub it down. Let rest while you fire up the pit.
- Pre-heat your Z grills to 375f.
- Once that temperature is reached carefully add in your chicken. I like using a tin underneath to catch all the drippings. It also helps the bird stand up.
- Approximately 45 minutes in you should be 1/2 way cooked you can start basting the bird. Make sure to baste it well.
- approximately 90 minutes in you should be finished 165f breast, 175f dark meat. Please remember that you'll get some carryover once removed. Before removing Baste the bird
- You can remove the bird to the board to rest. At this point, you can baste some more
