Maple Bourbon Butter Glazed Ham Recipe
Prepare and cook a spiral ham using a Z Grills Pellet grill with cherry pellets, setting the temperature to 375°F. Dry the ham, apply a savory rub, and cook for 4 hours, turning every hour for even cooking. When the internal temperature reaches 135°F, glaze with a homemade maple bourbon butter sauce and continue until it hits 140°F. The total prep time is 30 minutes, with an additional 20 minutes for the glaze, costing about $25 for all ingredients. For a final touch, add a zest of half an orange before serving.

- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Ham
- 1 smoked spiral Ham
- Your favorite rub
- 1/2 zest orange
Instructions
20 min maple bourbon butter glaze
- Add all the ingredients and simmer to thicken.
Ham
- Remove ham from the package, and dry off with paper towels.
- You can use a mustard binder if you'd like.
- Apply your rub, keep in mind that the glaze is sweet so something savory or something with some bite would be perfect.
- Add your Ham to a tin up on a small rack
- Fire up the Z GRILLS and set the temperature to 375f. Once your temperature is reached add your Ham in.
- At the 1, 2, and 3-hour mark, you are going to want to turn the ham(rotate)for even cooking. If your Ham is getting too dark, cover it loosely with some foil.
- You can also spritz with water to cool it down.
- Around the 3 1/2-4 hour mark, you should be around 135f internal. Start glazing the ham with your Maple Bourbon Butter sauce for the next 15 minutes or until an internal temperature of 140f is reached.
- Remove and let rest. For some added flavor try the zest of 1/2 orange!
