Dead Man’s Chest Ribs

A smoky and flavorful rib recipe cooked on a Z Grills, featuring tender ribs coated in BBQ sauce and garnished with roasted red bell pepper.

Ingredients

  • oil
  • 2 Racks Spare Ribs
  • Your Favorite Rib Rub
  • BBQ Sauce
  • 1 Piece Red Bell Pepper
  • Red Food Coloring Optional

Instructions

  • Remove the membranes from both racks of ribs. Apply your favorite rib rub and let them rest while the Z Grills preheats.
  • Brush the red bell pepper with olive oil and cook it on the stovetop until partially charred.
  • Fire up the Z Grills and set the temperature to 250°F.
  • Once the grill reaches 250°F, place the ribs on the grill and cook for 2 hours without opening the lid.
  • After 2 hours, spritz the ribs with a 50/50 mixture of water and apple cider vinegar, or just water.
  • Continue cooking until the internal temperature reaches 195°F, approximately 4 hours in total.
  • Once the ribs reach 195°F, brush them with your favorite BBQ sauce and let them cook for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest. Garnish with the charred red bell pepper.
  • Optionally, add some red food coloring for presentation. Have fun with the plating, and enjoy!
