Old Fashioned Bread Pudding

This delicious and easy bread pudding recipe uses the simplest ingredients. Perfect to feed a crowd at your next Holiday table.

Equipment

  • 1 Z Grills 700D4E pelllet grill
  • Cheery blend pellets

Ingredients

  • 2 16 oz loaf French bread(left out overnight)
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

For the caramel sauce

  • 3 cup coarsely chopped pecans(toasted)
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar 
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2/3 cup butter 
  • 3 tablespoon whipping cream

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350
  • Spray evenly including the sides a 9"x13" baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Cut stale bread into 1"-2" squares and add to large bowl.
  • In another bowl, whisk together your milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg until well combined.
  • Pour over bread and stir gently to coat, let soak for about 20-30 minutes(important)
  • Spread into a baking dish and bake in the oven for about 50-60 minutes until center is set.

Caramel Pecan Tart

  • Arrange pecans in a single layer on a baking sheet. 
  • Bake at 350°F for 7 to 10 minutes or until lightly toasted.
  • Cool on a wire rack 15 minutes or until completely cool.
  • Make caramel Combine brown sugar, honey, 2/3 cup butter, and whipping cream in a 3-qt. saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir in toasted pecans

Spread bread mixture into a baking dish adding some caramel and bake 350f in the oven for about 50-60 minutes until the center is set. After that 1 hour add some heath bar crunch and add that caramel pecan sauce. Bake another 10-15 min @450f...
