Ingredients
216 oz loaf French bread(left out overnight)
5eggs
1cupsugar
1/2cupmilk
1/2cupheavy cream
2tspvanilla
1tspcinnamon
1/2tspnutmeg
For the caramel sauce
3cupcoarsely chopped pecans(toasted)
2/3cuppowdered sugar
1/2cupfirmly packed brown sugar
1/2cuphoney
2/3cupbutter
3tablespoonwhipping cream
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350
Spray evenly including the sides a 9"x13" baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Cut stale bread into 1"-2" squares and add to large bowl.
In another bowl, whisk together your milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg until well combined.
Pour over bread and stir gently to coat, let soak for about 20-30 minutes(important)
Spread into a baking dish and bake in the oven for about 50-60 minutes until center is set.
Caramel Pecan Tart
Arrange pecans in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Bake at 350°F for 7 to 10 minutes or until lightly toasted.
Cool on a wire rack 15 minutes or until completely cool.
